Musical Ride

(as held at the TWH division at the NYSF for 10+ yrs)

Individual entries will perform a series of gaits and movements to music of their choice, using tack and equipment of their choice.  Maximum length of the routine shall be 4 minutes.  Lite Shod and Keg Shod entries are acceptable.

The Musical Ride is compaired to the Olympics, gymnastics floor exercise and figure skating long program, where there can be a little variation to allow for different rink sizes, energy level of performer, etc., but generally recognizeable as the same routine. Showmanship is good, and artistry is even better.

 2) transition between gaits & movements (20%)

3) suitability of routine to the music (20%);

4) overall aesthetic quality (10%);

5) costume or attire (10%)
