FOSH Announces EquiTheater YouTube Contest

Friends of Sound Horses (FOSH) and www.EquiTheater.com announces that they have joined together to create an EquiTheater YouTube contest with $500 in total awarded to the top five winners. Contestants must be FOSH members, and the act must include an easy gaited horse. All acts must comply with the FOSH Sound Principles and the contest rules for the EquiTheater YouTube contest. Winners are determined based upon the number of views on YouTube.

EquiTheater is a skit performed to music by exhibitors and their horses. Exhibitors may use props and other individuals for their act.. Contestants may enter more than once provided a different routine is used for each entry.

The contest begins October 1, 2011 and ends September 2012. Exhibitors at the FOSH North American Pleasure Gaited Horse Championships on October 13, 14 and 15, 2011 in Lake St. Louis, Missouri may enter videos of their acts performed at the show as entries in the YouTube contest.

EquiTheater Contest

1.  Free contest on YouTube.

2.  $500 prize pool sponsored by: www.EquiTheater.com

3.  Only open to FOSH members

4,  Viewer’s choice awards.

5.  Voting by the public.

6.  Routine with the largest number of viewers is the winner.

7.  Anyone can view and vote.

8.  Anyone can view and vote more than once.

9.  FOSH members may enter as many new acts as they like during the contest period. A new act is one that has not previously been entered into the EquiTheater contest.

10.  Acts can be performed anywhere – at a show, in your backyard

Rules of Competition:

1.  Contest is free.

2.  Prize pool is $500 sponsored by www.EquiTheater.com

3,  Prize money to be awarded to fifth place ($175, $150, $100, $50, $25). If fewer than 5 contestants, prize money will be adjusted.

4.  The act may consist of 1, 2 or 3 horses and exhibitors and as many props and supporting people (extras) as desired.

5.  One of the exhibitors in the act must be a FOSH member. Supporting people (extras) need not be FOSH members.

6.  The entry must be submitted by the FOSH member.

7.  All horses, ponies, mules or donkeys must be easy gaited either registered or non-registered. They may be ridden, lead or driven or any combination.

8.  The act has not been previously entered and officially accepted into the FOSH EquiTheater YouTube Contest.

9.  The act may have been recorded any time previous to or during the contest period.

10. It is not necessary the act be recorded in public.

11. A contestant may enter any number of acts.

12. Music and Video must be clearly audible and visible.

13. Video footage must be continuous and unedited.

14. Videos must be posted on YouTube only. 

15. Winners determined by the number of Views on YouTube during the contest period.

16, All videos submitted to a review committee for compliance.

17. Competition runs from October 1, 2011 to September 2012 

18. Winners will be announced prior to October 31, 2012.

Requirements (checklist)

EquiTheater is performing a Skit, telling a story and should not to be confused

with horse or horses dancing to music, a liberty routine, a pattern or rail class.

1.  The Song, Routine and Costuming must all be "G" rated. (*see IJA Rules for more details and restrictions).

2.  A minimum of 2 gaits must be shown in each direction.

3.  The use of space must be balanced.

4.  The act includes at least one stop.

5.  The act includes at least one back up.

6.  Music and Video must be clearly audible and visible.

7.  Video footage must be continuous and unedited.

 

 How to enter:

1.  Video your act.

2.  Register and Create an account on YouTube.

3.  Upload video of the act to YouTube and set as “Limited Viewing”.

4.  Submit this YouTube link to the review committee at ddlittle@telusplanet.net for compliance with official act requirements.

5.  After review and approval by the committee, an entry number is issued for each act.

6.  Title your act EquiTheater_FOSH_ and the issued entry number.

7.  Change the viewing option on YouTube to “Public Viewing”.

8.  Encourage people to view the video of your act. 

9.  Remember winners will be determined by the number of “Views”. The number of "VIEWS" become the number of VOTES.
